RRVA sets out to beautify Randpark Ridge
There is little the residents association is not thinking of to improve Randpark Ridge.
From tree tags to owl boxes, potholes and security cameras, the Randpark Ridge Village Association (RRVA) has plans to better and beautify its area.
Last year the residents association installed state-of-the-art Fin drains parallel to Seder Road, to remove water that was causing extensive road deterioration.

These have been effective though they have not completely solved the problem, as that involves either groundwater or water leaking from Hymany Dam through properties onto the road.
This according to associaton chairperson Quinton Robbertze, who said they are working with the municipality to address this.

Other projects on the go include the installation of new tags on trees throughout the suburb labelling their species, as many of the old tags have fallen off or were stolen.
“We have also bought a mixture to fill up potholes and we will soon be training people to do this,” Robbertze added.
More security cameras, including automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras have been installed so that all five entrances to the suburb have just about been covered.
Another project from the security committee includes setting up panic buttons at certain walls and trees for pedestrians to use if they ever feel in danger.
A new owl box will also be built in Essenhout park to complement the ones in Hymany Park.
When these projects are realised, the Randburg Sun will be there to report on them.
