Beautiful Rock Kestrels occupying an owl box
In an estate in Melkbosstrand, a pair of Rock Kestrels have bred in an EcoSolutions owl box for the past 2 years. This year, the pair produced 4 youngsters who have fledged successfully from the owl box.

A lot of our members and followers are watching and enjoying the Verreaux's Eagle Owlet (Bubo lacteus) on the EcoSolutions Owl Cam. Starke Ayres - Creating a safe haven for owls
Started in 2016, this has been such a valuable and worthwhile collaboration. Results from our annual owl pellet collection and analysis reveal that the 15 occupied owl boxes at Starke Ayres are responsible for the consumption of over 9000 rats p/a.
