We are in the Press >>> Barn Owls make great stable mates!

Barn Owls (Tyto alba) are a common sight at the Steyn City Equestrian Centre. This year will be the 3rd year running where Barn Owls have successfully bred in an EcoSolutions owl box and produced a healthy clutch of owlets!

Residents of Chartwell, please welcome two beautiful Barn Owlets to your neighbourhood >>> K52462 and K52463.

*** Spotted Eagle Owlets at Stratford Gardens ***

We received a call from a concerned resident at Stratford Gardens, Fourways, about two Spotted Eagle Owlets (Bubo africanus) on the ground. After receiving the all-clear from Johannesburg Wildlife Vet, the residents helped us put rings on the owlets and the owlets were safely placed back in the owl box.

To the Fourways community, we would like to introduce you to two healthy Spotted Eagle Owlets >>> 890055 and 890056.

Make sure your owl box is an Owl Home this spring!

It is not too late to have your owl box maintained and serviced to ensure that your owl box is an Owl Home!

The reason for the annual service is twofold - to make sure that the box is still secure and in a good condition and to replenish the gravel substrate on which the female owls lay their eggs.

**Without a substrate, owls will not use the box**

The annual owl box service fee is R640.00

Book your owl box service today through our online shop here. Alternatively, simply reply to this newsletter and we will take it from there.

If you are unsure why your owl box requires an annual 'revamp', please have a read through our 'Still Empty' page here.

Our newest owl homes are in Rynfield, Benoni and in Waterkloof, Pretoria! Well done!

Together, we are creating the largest Urban Owl Box Project in Africa!

*** 2019 Annual Art Project is... a 3D Owl Puzzle ***

For the past 4 years, owlproject.org and children from township schools have created amazing owl themed artwork. Part of this art collection is now in Houston (USA), Portugal and Austria!

This year, the learners chose a 3D Owl Puzzle and owlproject.org couldn't resist! Each unit costs R500.00 to cut and colour. Owlproject.org needs your support to reach their goal of 50 3D Owl Puzzles!

Owlproject.org has a number of easy ways for you to make your donation - please click here. Any donation would be a huge help to cover various costs to make this art project a reality!

Without education, there can be no conservation.
